Guidelines for Record Submissions
State record swims will be recognized for the fastest time swum by a Oklahoma Masters Swimming (OMS) member in each age division, course and gender. The OMS records keeper will be responsible for compiling state records. The OMS records keeper and the OMS Committee will have the final say in the determination of OMS state records.
Eligibility for Citizems & State Records
A state record is open to any registered master swimmer (from any LMSC) competing in a meet in the state of Oklahoma. A citizen record is open to any Oklahoma-registered masters swimmer swimming in any sanctioned meet anywhere.
Notification
It shall be the individual member's responsibility to bring state record swims to the attention of the OMS records keeper.

• Official posted results for USMS sanctioned or recognized meets

An event sanctioned by USMS, Inc., through one of its Local Masters Swimming Committees (LMSC), must meet all of the following criteria:
1. Conduct of the event must be in strict compliance with applicable swimming rules and administrative regulations of USMS, Inc. A current USMS rule book must be available at the event.
2. All competitors must hold current USMS registrations and must be 18 years of age or over. This is necessary for the safety and enjoyment of the swimmers, for liability insurance coverage to be in force and for official consideration of performances.
3. The referee shall be certified as a stroke and turn judge, starter or referee by USA Swimming, YMCA or any other USMS-approved certifying body. See article 103 of the USMS rule book for certification requirements.
4. Each LMSC is required to have a Sanctions Chair responsible for all phases of the process, including early scheduling to avoid conflicts and follow-up with the Top Ten Recorder to ensure meet results are submitted in a timely manner.
5. If this event is a competition, results and required facility certifications must be submitted in proper format within 14 days of the event to the LMSC Top Ten recorder and sanctions chair (article 103.5 of the USMS rule book).

Participating in a Swim Event
To participate in any of Oklahoma USMS-sanctioned events and swim meets, you need to be a registered USMS member. There are several ways to register for USMS Membership, details can be found on Register for USMS section.
*Note: One event membership is only good for one meet during the calendar year, your results will not be "official" (times will not count for records). Your swim results may sometimes be taken out of the final results all together. The one-event fee also cannot be applied to the overall cost of the USMS membership. Please bring this form along with you on the day of the meet.
